Validate master data
Using the Comsol USt-ID validation, the following master data can be validated against the BZSt interface via the info box:
- Customers
- Vendors
- Contacts
The address can be checked both from the list and from the card.
Example Customer:
The validation is initiated using the Check button and directly returns the result visually. In addition to the last validation date, the result is also visible in the info box:
Note:
When you run for the first time, a message appears stating that access to an external service must be permitted:
"Always allow" must be selected here so that access to the service (https://evatr.bff-online.de/evatrRPC) of the BZSt is enabled.
Note on the autosave function in BC 21+: In the function management, the Feature Update: Auto-save with every field change function should be activated. If this function is deactivated, the InfoBox can only recognize changes to the data record after the current page has been reloaded. This is standard BC 21 behavior.

You can use the history button to access the entries.
Batch validation
With the Comsol USt-ID batch validation, it is possible to check all customers and/or vendors who have a foreign VAT registration no. entered. In addition, customers/vendors without a VAT registration no. can also be validated to identify them.
The result of the batch validation can be found in the entries and activity entries.
Automatic validation on sales order release
You can use the Comsol USt-ID setup to activate the automatic validation when sales orders are released. This means that an info box is also displayed in the sales order page. For the validation, it can be specified when the release is rejected:
- Only if the VAT registration no. is invalid.
- In the case of an invalid VAT registration no. and/or if the address is different
The address to be used for validation can also be specified in the Comsol USt-ID setup.
Entries
The results from all validations are visible in the entries.
- In addition to the master data ID (Source Type + Source ID), the VAT registration no. and the address data (name etc.) are listed.
- You can see by whom and when the test was carried out.
- The most important information, however, is the result of the VAT registration no. and the address itself.

If master data is linked via the BC business relationship and the corresponding setting is activated in the Comsol USt-ID setup, entries are written for both data records. For example, if a customer is checked and a contact is linked, a new line entry is created with the address of the linked contact.

Comsol USt-Id Address
In this table, an address that differs from the master data record, can be recorded to a VAT registration no.. Each time a validation is done, a check is made to see whether the requested VAT registration no. an address is entered in this table. If so, this address will be sent for validation. This means that addresses that differ from the master data can be assigned to a VAT registration no. are checked as correct, although they are not printed on the documents. We recommend clarifying with your tax advisor whether you should use this function.
